Ligation and Stripping
Ligation and Stripping is performed on long straight segments of superficial veins and involves removal of the entire vein. It is used to treat large varicose veins. This type of surgery is recommended when removal of the vein can ensure a very thorough disconnection of veins in the groin and thigh and thereby reduce the risk of recurrence. It is performed using spinal or general anesthesia at a day surgery center. Patients are encouraged to ambulate that same day.

The Endovenous Laser Procedure
Eliminate unsightly veins at the source. The twisted bulging that causes discomfort and/or embarrassment results from faulty valves in the veins. As blood flows through your veins to the heart, stop valves are supposed to prevent the blood from flowing backwards as gravity pulls it down. If the valves don't close properly, blood pools in the vein, forcing the walls to enlarge and bulge out.
The Laser Procedure
is usually performed in less than an hour.
- Can be performed in the doctor's office.
- Immediate relief of symptoms
- Return to normal activity immediately with little or no pain.
- Local anesthesia with or without sedation.
- No scars.
Laser treatment uses targeted laser energy to seal the vein shut and help you look and feel better fast.

Ambulatory Phlebectomy
Ambulatory Phlebectomy is done with anesthesia as day surgery. It is carried out by making tiny incisions over the veins and pulling out sections with fine forceps. Stitches are not necessary as the veins involved in this procedure are typically very small and the stab-like incisions leave almost no perceptible scars.

Compression Sclerotherapy
It is possible to obliterate some varicose and spider veins by injecting an irritant substance or a sclerosing agent. This procedure, sclerotherapy and/or foam sclerotherapy, seals off a diseased vein by fibrotic scar tissue that the vein produces as a response to the irritants injection. The addition of compression aids in obtaining a better response.
